Aftercare

Aftercare is crucial for the maintenance the of your lash and brow treatments. Proper care can ensure longer-lasting effects, prevent irritation, and promote healthy hair growth. Following aftercare guidelines can help preserve the integrity of the treatment and enhance your overall look. By investing a little time in aftercare, you’ll keep your lashes and brows looking fabulous for longer!

Waxing

  • Immediately apply a gentle, moisturising post-wax lotion—preferably one with tea tree or aloe vera—to hydrate and reduce irritation. This is completed in salon as a complimentary part of your waxing service.

  • A bit of redness, itching, or minor bruising is normal as the hair is pulled from the root. Refrain from touching or scratching the area until the skin has recovered. A cold compress can help soothe and calm the area.

  • For the next 24-48 hours: Avoid heat and UV light as your skin is extra sensitive and could burn or become irritated. Use only lukewarm or cool water on waxed skin. Further, avoid the use of cosmetic products and swimming after waxing as the process leaves your skin pores open and more susceptible to irritation and infection.

  • Consider using a gentle facial exfoliant two or three times a week to remove dead skin cells that can trap hair follicles. This helps prevent ingrown hairs and keeps the brow area looking smooth. Wait at least 24-48 hours after your brow wax before exfoliating so your skin has time to recover.

Lash and Brow Tint and Dye

  • By following the correct aftercare, you can achieve longer-lasting tint results. Here's a list of aftercare tips, which should be followed for 24 to 48 hours post-treatment:

  • Avoid using makeup and facial cleansers around the area.

  • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, the use of sunbeds, saunas, steam rooms, and swimming pools.

  • Avoid exfoliating and using anti-aging products around the area.

  • Avoid using any self-tanning products on the face for around two-three days on either side of the treatment.

  • Avoid the temptation to over-touch the area after treatment. Touching with hands/fingers can lead to oils entering opening pores and clogging them.

Brow Lamination

  • No make-up removers other than Elleebana Make-Up Remover for the first 48 hours - they may disturb the lamination.

  • Avoid touching brow hairs - please try to leave them alone as much as possible.

  • Avoid sleeping on your face or on your side and avoid wearing an eye mask to sleep for at least 48 hours post treatment.

  • Avoid steam from showers, saunas, dishwashers or ovens - reducing this exposure is recommended wherever possible.

  • Avoid wetting the brow hairs within the first 48 hours.

  • Avoid exfoliation of the skin around the brow area for 48 hours.

  • Avoid using retinols, vitamin A, AHA's, BHA's, steroid creams or skin thinning treatments for at least 48 hours post treatment.

  • After wetting the brow hairs (after the initial 48 hours) it is necessary to gently brush them back into place.

  • The use of a styling product and nourishing product is required to re-establish the position of the hairs after a brow lamination - Elleeplex Advanced After Care doubles as a nourishing and styling product.

Lash Lamination/Lifting

  • No make-up removers other than Elleebana Make-Up Remover for the first 48 hours - they may disturb the lamination/lift.

  • Avoid sleeping on your face or on your side and avoid wearing an eye mask to sleep for at least 48 hours post treatment.

  • Avoid steam from showers, saunas, dishwashers or ovens - reducing this exposure is recommended wherever possible.

  • Elleeplex advanced gel formula is the best daily treatment to maintain optimum lash health, whilst providing softness and shine to eyelashes and brows.
